The primary-ever profitable kidney transplant operation in Tripura was carried out on the state-run Govind Ballabh Pant (GBP) Hospital in Agartala on Monday.
Addressing media individuals on the hospital after the five-hour-long operation, Dr Sankar Chakraborty, Medical Superintendent, GBP Hospital, mentioned, “We have now efficiently transplanted a kidney donated by the affected person’s mom. We signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Manipur’s Shija Hospitals just a few days in the past.
