The Trinamool Congress on Monday claimed that the household of Rajmata (Queen Mom) Amrita Roy, the BJP candidate from West Bengal’s Krishnanagar Lok Sabha seat, had sided with the British.
Trinamool Congress chief Kunal Ghosh alleged that Raja Krishna Chandra Roy, the king of Krishnagar, had helped the British forces when Nawab of Bengal Siraj-ud-Daulah was preventing towards British rule.
“Historical past says the royal household of Krishnanagar helped the Britishers when Siraj-ud-Daulah fought towards the British. Raja Krishna Chandra Roy had helped the British forces,” he instructed India At the moment.
“It is fairly apparent that (Veer) Savarkar’s social gathering, which is answerable for the killing of Mahatma Gandhi, would nominate somebody from a household, which supported the British. Then again, Mahua Moitra is preventing towards corruption within the nation,” Ghosh mentioned, taking a dig on the BJP.
Moitra is the Trinamool Congress candidate from Krishnanagar, a seat which she had received in 2019 earlier than she was disqualified as an MP last year in the cash-for-query case.
RAJMATA AMRITA ROY REFUTES TRINAMOOL’S CLAIMS
Hitting again at Ghosh, Roy dismissed the allegations, saying they have been “false”.
“That is one thing that I feel each Bengali and each Indian will agree that no matter is being instructed about my household is fully false. The allegation is Maharaja Krishna Chandra Roy had sided with the British. Why did he do this? It is due to the torture of Siraj-ud-Daullah,” she mentioned.
“If he had not performed that, would Hinduism have survived right here? Would Sanatan Dharma had survived? No. Then, he would have been remodeled into one other id. If that is the case, why can’t we are saying that the Maharaja saved us from an anti-communal strike,” Roy additional mentioned.
