Mukul Roy, a former shut affiliate of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, was hospitalised for a head harm after he fell down at his residence at Kanchrapara on Wednesday.
The 70-year-old politician was admitted to a personal hospital in Kalyani and later shifted to a different personal hospital in Kolkata. Hospital sources stated he was discovered to have a blood clot, which medical doctors eliminated in an operation. Whereas Roy is now reportedly secure, he’s beneath remark, they added.
His son Subhrangshu Roy stated that on Wednesday evening “My father fell down whereas going to the lavatory…he vomitted and fell unconscious.”
Mukul Roy has not been energetic in politics for 2 years, and has been affected by acute diabetes and dementia. In April, he was hospitalised as a result of varied illnesses.
In 2017, Mukul Roy had resigned from the TMC and joined the BJP. He was then elected as a BJP MLA from Krishnanagar Uttar in 2021. After that, he resigned from the BJP and unofficially returned to TMC. On paper, he’s nonetheless an MLA of the BJP.
