The Supreme Court docket will on Monday pronounce its judgement on the bail plea of former Delhi Well being Minister Satyendar Jain in a money-laundering case probed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). A bench of Justices Bela M Trivedi and Pankaj Mithal will ship the order.
In January, the Supreme Court had reserved its order on the bail plea of the Aam Aadmi Get together (AAP) chief after it heard submissions from Further Solicitor Basic SV Raju, who appeared for the ED, and Jain’s counsel Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi.
On Monday, the bench may even pronounce an order on the bail plea of co-accused Ankush Jain and Vaibhav Jain.
The previous Delhi Minister, who’s at present out on interim bail on medical grounds, was arrested by the ED in May last year for allegedly laundering cash by shell corporations and shopping for land with unlawful funds.
His arrest got here a month after the probe company connected property value Rs 4.81 crore linked to Jain’s household in a disproportionate property case.
Earlier this month, Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena sanctioned a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe towards Satyendar Jain for his alleged involvement in an extortion racket.
The CBI has accused the previous Delhi Minister of receiving protection money from several “high profile prisoners”, together with conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar, in change for enabling them to dwell peacefully and comfortably in jail.
Based on the probe company, he allegedly extorted Rs 10 crore from Chandrasekhar as ‘safety cash’.
