Minister of Exterior Affairs S Jaishankar met his Iceland counterpart Bjarni Benediktsson after signing the European Free Commerce Affiliation (EFTA) in New Delhi on Sunday.
India signed a free commerce settlement with the four-nation EFTA within the presence of Union Commerce and Business Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday.
The delegation that signed the deal included Man Parmelin, Swiss Federal Councillor and Head of the Division of Financial Affairs, Training and Analysis; Bjarni Benediktsson, Minister of Overseas Affairs of Iceland; Dominique Hasler, Minister of Overseas Affairs of Liechtenstein; and Jan Christian Vestre, Minister of Commerce and Business of Norway.
Piyush Goyal known as the signing a “momentous event” and stated it marks the “fruits of practically 15 years of laborious work, super power, and energy”.
