“Why I resigned now? Two causes. I didn’t need to resign instantly as I welcomed the Bharat Ratna accorded to Chaudhry Charan Singh Ji. I didn’t need to be seen opposing it. Secondly, the assault on elected Chief Ministers and Opposition events when elections have been introduced is an assault on Indian Democracy & the good establishments that we’ve got constructed,” he wrote in one other put up.
The event comes days after Jayant Chaudhary’s RLD joined the BJP-led Nationwide Democratic Alliance (NDA) after Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced Bharat Ratna for his grandfather Chaudhary Charan Singh.
The RLD will contest two Lok Sabha seats, Baghpat and Bijnor, and has additionally been promised a Rajya Sabha seat for the upcoming polls.
