Dismissing rumours of her consuming beef as “shameful and baseless”, actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut, who’s contesting the Lok Sabha election on a BJP ticket from Mandi constituency, on Monday mentioned she was “a proud Hindu.”
Taking to X (previously Twitter), Ranaut mentioned, “I don’t eat beef or another form of purple meat. It’s shameful that fully baseless rumours are being unfold about me. I’ve been advocating and selling a yogic and Ayurvedic lifestyle for many years. Now, such ways to tarnish my picture won’t work. My folks know me, they usually know that I’m a proud Hindu and nothing can ever mislead them.”

The assertion comes two days after Congress chief Vijay Wadettiwar alleged that Ranaut had as soon as mentioned that she ate beef. Talking at a rally, Wadettiwar, the chief of opposition within the Maharashtra state meeting, claimed that Ranaut had written on X that she favored and ate beef, and regardless of that the BJP had given her a ticket for the Lok Sabha elections.
Reacting to the identical, BJP spokesperson Keshav Upadhye mentioned, “This displays Congress’ soiled tradition. It can’t struggle us on points. This reveals the occasion’s defeatist mentality.”
