Maharashtra Speaker Rahul Narwekar on Tuesday ordered the formation of a SIT to probe Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil’s feedback on deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Alleging that Devendra Fadnavis was trying to kill him, Patil had mentioned on Sunday that he would march to Mumbai and protest exterior the deputy chief minister’s residence.
BJP MLA Ashish Shelar demanded the probe into Patil’s statements within the Meeting on Tuesday.
“Every of Patil’s calls for had been accepted by us to start with. However now, Jarange is speaking about ending Maharashtra and is threatening our deputy chief minister,” Shelar mentioned, including that they’d “foiled Patil’s plan to destroy Maharashtra”.
“Who’s behind Patil? Whose plan was it to destroy Maharashtra? A SIT inquiry should be carried out to deliver it to gentle,” he added.
In the meantime, deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis mentioned, “Regardless of Jarange Patil’s feedback, the Marathas nonetheless stand with me. The SIT probe would reveal every little thing.”
NCP MLA (Sharad Pawar faction) Rakesh Tope from Jalna, who was accused of being behind Patil’s statements, mentioned that neither he nor Sharad Pawar had “written the script” for Patil.
“I helped protestors as I’m an MLA and offered them with water and meals. I feel it’s our obligation to help protestors from all communities. The protest is led by future generations of the Maratha neighborhood. All of the allegations levelled in opposition to us are baseless, and we’re prepared for any SIT probe,” he mentioned.
