The Surat Municipal Company (SMC) shifted 955 folks to safer locations in Surat metropolis on Wednesday as a result of creeks flooding following heavy rainfall.
Between 6 am to six pm on Wednesday, Surat obtained 314 mm of rainfall, leading to waterlogging in numerous elements of town.
In response to the SMC flood management room, whereas the water degree at Kakra creek has reached 6.6 m, Bhedwad creek is at 6.8 m, Mithi Creek at 9 m, Bhatena Creek at 6.6 m and Simada creek at 4.5 m. The water degree at these creeks are near their hazard marks, stated civic officers.
