India launched ‘Operation Indravati’ to evacuate its residents from violence-torn Haiti to the Dominican Republic. Exterior Affairs Minister S Jaishankar confirmed the launch of the rescue effort via a social media submit.

As a part of this ongoing operation, 12 Indian nationals have been safely evacuated on Thursday.
“India begins Operation Indravati to evacuate its nationals from Haiti to the Dominican Republic. 12 Indians evacuated as we speak. Totally dedicated to the safety and well-being of our nationals overseas. Thank the Authorities of the Dominican Republic for his or her help,” Jaishankar wrote on X.
The choice to launch Operation Indravati follows earlier remarks by Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of Exterior Affairs, throughout a weekly press briefing on March 15.
“As you understand, there’s a disaster in Haiti. And if required, we are going to evacuate. We’re able to evacuate. And if required, we are going to do this,” Jaiswal said, reported ANI.
HAITI IN CHAOS DUE TO GANG VIOLENCE
Haiti has been grappling with a state of emergency triggered by latest violent assaults.
