Chief of CPIM’s youth organisation, Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), Kalatan Dasgupta was granted bail by the Calcutta Excessive Courtroom on Thursday, in a case of alleged conspiracy to assault junior docs protesting the rape and homicide of a girl physician in RG Kar Hospital on August 9. He was given bail with a surety of Rs 500.
Dasgupta was arrested together with one Sanjiv Das, on September 14, after a purported audio clip of a cellphone name was launched by TMC chief Kunal Ghosh, who alleged {that a} conspiracy was hatched to assault the medics exterior Swasthya Bhawan in Salt Lake and defame the state authorities.
The only bench of the HC comprising Justice Rajarshi Bharadwaj mentioned that Dasgupta can neither be interrogated in reference to the probe nor be arrested with out the consent of the Excessive Courtroom.
