A key member of an interstate arms trafficking syndicate has been arrested from Tughlakabad Fort space and 6 firearms, together with single-shot pistols and semi-automatic pistols , and three magazines had been seized from him, police mentioned Friday.
Tegwinder Singh aka Jagga, 25, from Amritsar’s Beas space, used to allegedly procure firearms from Madhya Pradesh and provide them to criminals in Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi-NCR. He was in Delhi to provide the firearms to his city-based affiliate when he was nabbed by Delhi Police’s Particular Cell on October 11 beneath the Arms Act, police mentioned.
“He used to obtain these firearms from one Mona aka Sardar of Sendhwa for Rs 8,000 per pistols and Rs 4,000 per single-shot pistols, and would promote them to the criminals in Delhi-NCR and different states at Rs 25,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively,” mentioned Manoj C, DCP, Particular Cell.
The police acted on a tip-off and laid a lure close to the Pul Prahladpur underpass on MB Street within the Tughlakabad Fort space to arrest Singh.
